Ever wanted to try line dancing without worrying about two left feet? Buddy Brewing in Burpengary is hosting a beginner-friendly night built for exactly that.
The Active Sisters started line dancing at its Margate studio with a four-week series for beginners and experienced dancers. Then the interest rolled in. Sami Fisher said the team was surprised by how strongly people responded, and that it loved watching women come together, laugh and try something new. That reaction convinced the group to take the classes out of the studio and welcome men, partners and friends as well.
Boots, Brews & Boogie is set for Saturday, 7 November, from 6 p.m. at Buddy Brewing, a family-run microbrewery at 178 Station Road in Burpengary. The night pairs line dancing for beginners with a relaxed brewery atmosphere, and each guest gets a complimentary drink on arrival. A ticket price for this event was not included in the announcement.
Can’t wait until November? Boots & Boogie runs on Saturday, 24 October, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Redcliffe Showgrounds. The one-hour session breaks each routine into easy steps, plays country music on a larger dance floor and ends with a group dance. Tickets for this night are listed at $27.78.
Two-left-feet worries can stay at home. Fisher said guests don’t need a partner or dance experience, and nobody has to get every step right. The aim is to enjoy the music, share a laugh and try something different, with everyone made to feel welcome on the floor.
Organisers encourage guests to bring friends, a partner or workmates and to dress in country style. Denim, boots and cowboy hats will fit right in.
