Caboolture-district players, clubs and families can book courts again at the Morayfield Sport and Events Centre, which says it has reopened following a flooding closure.
A post from the centre announced it would reopen from 10:30am that day, a Friday, and invited people to phone the team on (07) 5498 6211 to make a booking. The post didn’t say how long the closure lasted, why it began or whether any sessions were affected.
The centre has five timber sprung courts, a large event space, meeting rooms and a café, and it takes regular and one-off bookings. Its listings earlier this year included kids’ basketball, wheelchair basketball, a soccer program for young children and taekwon-do classes.
Caboolture and Morayfield sit on opposite sides of the Caboolture River, and heavy rain and flash flooding hit both on 22 October. Nothing I found links that flooding to damage at the centre, and no cancellations or relocations have been confirmed.
Before you go, ring the centre first if you hold a booking or run a weekly session. Organisers are the best contact for whether a specific competition or class is back on, and anyone chasing a refund or credit should ask whoever took their payment.
Roads in the area may still be affected, so check conditions on QLDTraffic before leaving.
